As well as bring a composer Don is also a very versatile performer. During his career he has played violin, saxophone, piano, vocals, ethnic flute,and many different types of hand percussion including dumbek and djembe.

He has played violin since the age of 6 in a variety of styles including classical, jazz and world music. He has also studied and performed with some of the most noted contemporary jazz violinists including Mark O’Connor, Billy Contreras, and Christian Howes.

On saxophone he has performed alongside artists such as Dee Daniels and Mike Stern.

His vocal background includes being a founding member of “Musica Intima” and “Chor Leone,” two of Canada’s premier vocal ensembles and has also toured, performed, and recorded with the Vancouver Chamber Choir.
